DinDin Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and DinDin, 77 Lower Camden Street, Saint Kevin’s, Dublin, D02 XE80 (“DinDin”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of the DinDin mobile app, the website dindin.recipes and any related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What DinDin is
DinDin helps you decide what to cook: it matches dishes to your answers, lets you save and plan dishes, build shopping lists (alone or in a shared kitchen), record what you cooked with photos, and follow other cooks. Recipes are linked from third-party websites; DinDin does not author or verify them. Nutritional and “satiety” suggestions are general information, not medical or dietary advice. Check ingredients yourself if you have allergies or dietary restrictions.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service. You sign in with a Google account or email; you are responsible for keeping that account secure and for everything done through it. One person per account. You may delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Delete account); see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
3. Subscriptions and payment
Some features require a DinDin subscription, sold through the Apple App Store as an auto-renewing subscription. Plans are currently offered on an annual and a monthly basis. The price, currency, billing period and any free trial or introductory offer that apply to you are the ones shown in the App Store and on the DinDin subscription screen at the moment you subscribe; prices vary by country and may differ from prices shown elsewhere.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of any free trial or introductory period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current standard price for your country unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Free trials, introductory and promotional prices are one-time offers subject to Apple’s eligibility rules (typically one per Apple ID); when they end, the standard price applies. Promotional offers we run may carry their own conditions, stated where the offer is shown. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions); deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules; we cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves. If we change the standard price of your plan, Apple will notify you before the change and, where Apple requires it, ask you to agree; otherwise the new price applies at your next renewal. To move a subscription to a new device, see dindin.recipes/restore.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, comments, ratings and other content you add. You grant DinDin a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and share that content within the Service (for example, showing your dish photo to people who follow you or share a kitchen with you) for as long as you keep it in the Service. You must have the right to post what you post. Do not post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that reveals other people’s personal data without their consent. We may remove content that breaks these rules.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) access the Service by any means other than the app or website we provide, including scraping or automated requests; (b) attempt to bypass security, rate limits, subscription checks or access controls; (c) reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows; (d) use the Service to harass others; (e) resell or commercially exploit the Service or its catalog without our written permission.
6. Our content and licence to you
The DinDin app, its dish catalog, cuisine and geography data, artwork, mascot and trademarks belong to DinDin or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the App Store’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement where it applies. Third-party recipe websites we link to have their own terms.
7. Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We will make reasonable efforts to keep it running and to keep your data safe, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service; in the last case we will give reasonable notice where possible. Sections 4, 6, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination.
9. Disclaimer and liability
To the extent permitted by law, DinDin is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or UK, you keep all mandatory consumer rights under your local law, and nothing here reduces them.
10. Apple-specific terms
These Terms are between you and DinDin, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claim relating to the Service, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on any US government list of prohibited parties.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes will be brought before the courts of Ireland, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to sue in your own country. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new Terms.
